WakkaWiki is a very small wiki engine, that is very easy to install and maintain.

As of September, 29 2004, the website seems to be down and the project stopped, although a large community of contributors was still actively posting bugfixes, extensions and new functionalities. Lacking further maintainance, Wakka ceased being attractive to new users and saw most of its contributors migrate to one of its many forks.

Today, WakkaWiki survives in a number of forks, sharing the same ancestry but pursuing their own visions.

The focus of WakkaWiki was having a simple and expandable structure. It lacked some features, but thanks to its simple design there are various forks and variants available, such as WackoWiki and WikkaWiki or several others.
